A Danish couple – both 21 years of age – has been arrested in Paris for taking a stroll in the city in the nude, according to Libération citing the weekly report from the Prefecture of Police.

According to the report, the two, who are unnamed, decided to ‘try something out’ for their last day in Paris, and left their hotel dressed only in shoes.

After purchasing a chocolate croissant at the local baker in the 18th arondissement, the couple went walkabout, ending up at a metro station – seemingly hoping to continue their naked tourist appreciation of Paris from a metro train. Their view of Paris may now, however, be marred by bars.

A metro official called the police and the two ended up adorned with special police bracelets to add to their shoes.

The Prefecture of Police says in its report that walking naked around Paris can carry a punishment of up to a year’s imprisonment and a EUR 15,000 fine for sexual exposure.
