Danish GDP rose a seasonally adjusted one percent in the second quarter of this year according to Statistics Denmark.

Investments and stocks grew, as did experts and imports, but while public consumption increased, private consumption dropped.

According to the figures, Denmark – as with the United States and the European Union - has seen positive growth in the past four quarters after several periods of decline, the reports says.

Private consumption dropped 0.3 percent with growth in car sales and other goods, but a drop in services, including tourism. Public consumption is said to have increased by 0.8 percent.

Exports grew by 3.5 percent in the second quarter, while imports grew by 5.5 percent.

Statistics Denmark says that total employment rose in the quarter by 0.4 percent or 10,800 people.
