The Danish Immigration Service has decided to deport 13 of 18 prostitutes who were arrested earlier this week in Vesterbro in Copenhagen.

Sixteen of those arrested were ethnic Nigerians, one came from another African country and the last from South America. Four of the group have been released, as they carry European passports – three from Italy and one from Belgium.

One of the group, who it is suspected has been trafficked, is to be given a milder form of deportation order under which she is left at a Danish border.

“In principle she is able to take a train back to Denmark straight away,” says Copenhagen City Police Investigation Head Dannie Rise.

The group is currently in court on charges of working illegally in Denmark.
