The court in Glostrup has returned a verdict of guilty on all 14 people accused of carrying out Denmark’s biggest ever robbery in 2008. Sentence is to be passed at a later date.

The DKK 60 million armed robbery took place on August 10, 2008 when a group of men smashed their way into the Dansk Værdihåndtering cash transit company in Brøndby, using a 22-ton loader tractor as a battering ram and sealing off surrounding roads with stolen garbage trucks which were set on fire.

The judge in the case said that the case was so serious that a provision in the criminal code could come into force providing for stricter sentences. Sentencing is to take place later this month.

Police eventually identified those concerned using DNA evidence from weapons and bulletproof vests that were left behind and over 300,000 mobile telephone contacts. The 14 include a couple of Danes, but are otherwise foreigners, many of whom are Swedish.

So far, only DKK 3.4 million of the haul has been found. It was discovered buried in a garden in Odense where one of those accused – TSM - was staying with his partner. TSM has previously been sentenced to ten years and deportation for cash transport robberies. Several of the others in the case are said to be members of the Malmö-based M-falangen criminal group
