After closing in red territory across the board yesterday, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange seems to have stabilised today, with the majority of stocks showing marginal green plusses.

At 10.30 a.m. only Coloplast B, Danisco, D/S Norden, NKT Holding, Lundbeck and Novo Nordisk B were still falling slightly, but all others were moving higher and with Vestas, William Demant, Danske Bank, DSV and A.P. Møller-Mærsk as the main movers.

Overall, at 10.30 the Copenhagen C20 was seen down by 5.90 percent on the week but is up 1.38 percent on the month and 16.99 percent up on six months, according to NasdaqOMX.

Wednesday’s stabilisation is generally seen as being a result of investors picking up stock that has been beaten down. Markets are generally expected to remain volatile, however, in particular in connection with the European Central Bank’s emergency funding repayment deadline for banks later this week.

That deadline, which the ECB has been unwilling to extend and which is generally seen as having compounded yesterday’s falls, has caused jittery investors to fear a liquidity shortfall.
