The Oslo Municipal Court has found two men guilty of preparing a terrorist attack in Denmark, while a third man was found guilty of aiding and abetting the two others in the first Norwegian judgment involving terrorism plans.

Mikael Davud, 40, a Norwegian of Uighur extraction was found guilty and sentenced to seven years while his accomplice SSSB, 38, an Iraqi Kurd was sentenced to 3 years and six months for procuring explosive material.

A third man known as DJ, 33, an Uzbek national, was sentenced to four months for helping to procure chemicals, but who turned himself into the police and acted as informant.

“The court finds there is no doubt that Davud took the initiative and was also the main person. He was to have carried out the terrorist attack,” said Judge Oddmund Svarteberg.

Svarteberg said that as there was no precedent in the case in Norway, he had looked to practice in among others Denmark.

The three men were arrested on July 8, 2010 and charged on suspicion of having conspired to prepare a terrorist attack, something all three denied. One of the three was arrested in Germany, while the other two were in Norway.
