The centre-left government has recently put forward proposals for a service check on the North Sea oil agreement with suggestions that it could be re-negotiated, but the A.P. Møller-Mærsk group has made it clear that it is not inclined to re-negotiate.

“We see no basis for a re-negotiation of the North Sea agreement,” A.P. Møller-Mærsk Public Affairs Executive Anders Würtzen tells Jyllands-Posten.

“The agreement lives up to all of the issues that the parties raised during the 2003 negotiations, which were both lengthy and meticulous,” he adds.

A.P. Møller-Mærsk is chief negotiator for the Dansk Undergrunds Consortium, which includes Shell and Chevron.

Recent disclosures in Jyllands-Posten suggested that between 2004 and 2010, the three oil companies earned DKK 88 billion on total revenues of DKK 150bn.
