South Zealand and Lolland-Falster police have issued a warning that counterfeit DKK1,000 notes are in circulation following 11 reports from outlets this week.

So far reports of false notes have come from Slagelse, Næstved and Kalundborg. According to the police several of the notes appear to have the serial number 240248 F.

Danish kroner notes appear not to be the only currency to be wary of. On Thursday Police in Frederiksberg in Copenhagen arrested a 40-year-old man attempting to exchange counterfeit dollar notes.

The man had four USD 100 notes on him when arrested and police found a further 11 counterfeit 100 dollar notes at his home.
