The Swedish man who was found partially clothed and seriously injured on a Danish motorway has now been positively identified by members of his family.

Police say 58-year-old Tom Hofwander, who died shortly after being found, was an audio technician for the Swedish pop singer Veronica Maggio. Maggio and her entourage had been performing at the Skanderborg Festival.

Police had difficulty in identifying the man as he had no identification on him papers when he was found in the small hours of Monday morning. The Maggio recording company, however, reported the audio technician as missing on Tuesday.

According to a police news release, Hofwander was on board a bus on his way home when the accident happened. Police believe he may have inadvertently opened the back door of the bus and fallen out.

The bus driver says he noticed at one point near Køge that the back door was not shut properly and stopped his vehicle to close the door. He says he did not notice anyone missing and all those on the bus were asleep during the transport.
