Søren Svenningsen, a member of the Board of the Danish Cycling Union, chairman of the Holte Cycling Club and the former owner of Team Capinordic has immediately resigned from his posts after having been tested positive for performance enhancers.

Svenningsen was tested in connection with an H40 contest in Denmark. The tests are said to have contained traces of two glucocorticoids as well as testosterone.

H40 contests are for those over the age of 40. The Danish Cycling Union has been instrumental in moving Anti Doping Denmark to test veterans as well as other active sportsmen and women.

Union Chairman Tom Lund says he is appalled at the news that Svenningsen, who was voted onto the Board earlier this year, has tested positive.

“We have a clear and no-nonsense anti doping policy at DCU. That a leading figure in Danish cycling and board member of the DCU tests positive and betrays our confidence, is unforgivable,” Lund says.
