Morning railway traffic in and around Copenhagen is subject to delays today due to an attempt at cable theft near Ny Ellebjerg Station.

The attempt to remove cables was discovered when the system reported faults in an area that has previously been subjected to cable theft and was thus under extra surveillance.

“We sent our people off and called the police immediately and the thieves ran off,” says Technical Operations Team Leader Ole Løkkegaard, adding that the cables were retrieved and would be used again.

Løkkegaard says it will take some hours before services are back to normal.
