The Danish Football Players’ Association has won its case at the Court of Arbitration in which three test players have been demanding vacation money from an already cash-strapped Brøndby IF.

The court has decided that Brøndby IF must back pay Peter Madsen, Thomas Rasmussen and Martin Ericsson vacation payments - some DKK4million.

“The Arbitration Court has decided that Brødnby IF should pay pension and vacation money in arrears to the three players. Brøndby IF was found not guilty on the issue of the discrimination of foreigners,” Brøndby IF says in a statement.

Neither party in the case is able to appeal the findings.

As the suit has been a test case for only three players, an eventual class action suit of other players could force the club to pay out as much as DKK23.5million.

The outcome of the case is also expected to affect other Superliga clubs.
