Parts of Vester Voldgade in central Copenhagen have been closed off after some 10-15 people have vandalised scaffolding and removed some of its parts.

“We have had a report that 10-15 people suddenly began to pull down parts of the scaffolding, and we don’t know whether it was workers or activists,” says Insp. Peter Veje, adding that police have previously had trouble between scaffolder groups who meddle with each other’s scaffolds.

“If scaffolders are responsible, they know what to do to make a scaffold unsafe and there is a risk that it can fall,” Veje adds.

The fire brigade has been called in to address the problem.
