The week ahead promises relatively un-dramatic and autumnal weather, once Monday’s weather drama has ended during the night.

“Monday will start off quite peacefully – but will develop into the week’s most dramatic day,” says Duty Met Officer Jørn Thomsen of the Danish Meteorological Institute, adding relatively heavy rain and high winds are expected to develop as the day wears on.

Rain will begin to fall in the morning in southwestern regions, increasing in intensity and spreading to the rest of the country.

“Quite heavy rain is expected this afternoon and evening – perhaps around 10-20mm,” Thomsen says.

Apart from the rain, easterly winds will pick up, reaching gale force in coastal areas.

Tuesday will be an altogether better day with temperatures around 15 degrees and light winds.
