Özlem Cekic, who was stripped of all her senior party positions by the previous Socialist People’s Party leadership has been reinstated by the new leadership and has been appointed party health spokeswoman.

Cekic, who is a nurse of profession, was dethroned in August after refusing a party whip and voting against the government’s Tax Agreement.

The new Socialist People’s Party group of spokesmen, appointed today in the wake of the election of Annette Vilhelmsen as party leader, also includes the former Business and Growth Minister Ole Sohn, who has been appointed culture spokesman.

Ole Sohn announced immediately prior to Vilhelmsen’s election 10 days ago that he would be leaving parliamentary politics at the next election. Annette Vilhelmsen has taken over the business and growth portfolio.

In other SF appointments, Jesper Petersen is to remain political spokesman while Anne Baastrup has been appointed group chairwoman. Party Leader Annette Vilhelmsen’s two previous areas of responsibility – business and growth, and children and education – have been handed over to Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt and Pernille Vigsø Bagge respectively.
