The Tietgenskolen Business High School in Odense has been closed for the day after the school received a letter this morning threatening a shooting incident.
“I am shocked,” says Rector Gitte Bargholt.
The decision to close the school and send 200 pupils who had already arrived home, came after a school clerk opened a typewritten letter early this morning containing the threat of a shooting at the school later in the day.
“We take this sort of threat very seriously, so we are taking no chances and investigating the incident as a serious threat,” says Funen Police Duty Officer Kim Munksgaard Hansen.
Bargholt says a guard company will be patrolling the school in the next few days so that pupils and staff can feel safe.
