Denmark’s toy icon LEGO is to close some of its production in Denmark and axe some 380 Danish jobs over the next 2½ years.
“Some employees will perhaps leave us anyway, but others may be able to find new competences and find work elsewhere in LEGO. But we cannot, unfortunately avoid laying off employees,” says LEGO CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp in a news release.
According to the report the production areas to be axed are, for example, decoration of LEGO elements and packing into final packaging. This has hitherto taken place in Billund.
