Wardens at Danish treatment centres say that biker gangs and criminal groups recruit retarded people and use them as henchmen in serious crime, according to a report in Ekstra Bladet.

The Hells Angels Spokesman Jørn Jønke Nielsen denies that his organisation recruits criminal retarded people.

But according to wardens at several treatment centres, retarded peopleare ideal tools for gangs as they have no inhibitions and are unable to feel empathy for their victims.

“One of our patients has been involved with gangs and criminal groups and has been sent to us after several sentences for serious crime,” says Thomas Kudahl of the Alternativet ApS treatment centre in Hjørring who adds that his centre has had two such patients in recent years.

The open Fuglekjær institution near Vejle reports that it has three sentenced retarded people who have been involved with the Hells Angels support group AK81 and who have been sentenced for particularly serious crime.
