Justice Minister Brian Mikkelsen (Cons.) says that the Danish People’s Party (DPP), which is currently the Liberal-Conservative minority government’s parliamentary safety net, could be welcomed into government.

“We are extremely satisfied with the cooperation we have with the Danish People’s Party. As far as I am concerned it’s policy that is important and not the people you cooperate with. Personally I’m happy with the party and see no problem in them entering government – but it all depends on politics,” Mikkelsen tells TV2.

Cool
Relations between the Conservative Party and the Danish People’s Party have otherwise been somewhat cool for some time. Earlier this week the Danish People’s Party Leader Pia Kjærsgård attacked the Conservative Culture Minister Carina Christensen.

But the DPP has repeatedly said recently that after eight years as the government’s loyal guarantor, it is ready to take part in government.
