Injunction proceedings brought by Denmark’s military against People’s Press in connection with a book about the Army’s Special Operations Force unit ar being heard behind closed doors.

Denmark’s defence establishment is seeking to stop the publication of the book, allow ransacking of People’s Press premises and to force People’s Press to divulge the names of journalists to whom review copies have been sent.

The injunction proceedings are solely targeted at the book itself, and not against Politiken, which published the full text of the book in Wednesday’s edition. Politiken has been reported to the police as a result of the publication, which came one day prior to court proceedings.

The book was written by a former commando of the Army’s Special Operations Force, and is claimed by the military to contain information that could be detrimental to national security.

It transpired Thursday, that the military has been aware for some months that the book was underway, and had been contacted by its author on several occasions.
