The Danish student journalist Niels Krogsgaard has now arrived in Denmark after being released from six days in the Evin prison in Teheran.

Krogsgaard, who was in Iran in connection with his final thesis on Iranian politics, was arrested last Wednesday during an anti-government demonstration in Teheran.

During his detention, Krogsgaard says that he was interrogated for some nine hours each day.

“I was interrogated for about nine hours each day, and it was not pleasant. I was shouted at, but I have not been subjected to torture or violence apart from when I was arrested when I was hit by a baton and a punch,” Krogsgaard told Ekstra Bladet yesterday.

He said added that he was blindfolded when he left his cell for interrogations, ‘so I have hardly seen anyone’.

The Danish embassy in Teheran did not have access to Krogsgaard until Monday of this week. Negotiatioins with Iranian authorities resulted in his release yesterday.
