Reshuffle: Hedegaard to Brussels

Denmark’s Climate Minister and primus motor in setting up the U.N.’s COP15 Climate Summit Connie Hedegaard, is Denmark’s choice for its post as EU Commissioner, the Prime Minister’s Office has announced in a news release.

Hedegaard will remain in the cabinet until COP15 has been held in December with a new title of Minister for the United Nations Climate Conference in Copenhagen in 2009.

A new climate and energy minister has been appointed. She is Lykke Friis, an expert on European Affairs and currently prorector at Copenhagen University.
