The United States and China have given their delegations orders to continue work to reach an agreement in Copenhagen and appear to be bending towards each other.

A senior American official told the Associated Press that President Obama and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao had moved ‘a step forward’ during their hour-long talks in Copenhagen.

The official said that the two leaders had discussed greenhouse gas emission targets, financing and transparency – one of the main bones of contention between the United States and China.
