Passengers on a flight from Copenhagen to Kristiansand in Norway had to hold a drunken man who repeatedly attempted to open the aircraft’s cabin door, according to fvn.no.

An eyewitness says that the man was clearly under the influence of alcohol and refused to heed calls to stop from cabin personnel.

“The captain had to ask passengers to hold him. He tried to open the door several times,” the eyewitness is reported as saying.

Norwegian police were waiting at Kristiansand Airport when the aircraft landed at 9.37 p.m. and arrested and charged the man with threatening behavior on board an aircraft. According to fvn.no, the man was a Norwegian national.

SAS Information Executive Knut Morten Johansen says he is unaware that the man attempted to open the cabin door, but adds it would not be possible to do so.

“Irrespective of what happened, it is not possible to open an aircraft door while it is in flight,” Johansen says.
