The police department in Huntington Beach California is asking those concerned or anyone with information on two apparently Danish women included in the photo collection of serial killer Rodney James Alcala to come forward and be identified.

On March 9th, a jury recommended the death penalty for 66-year-old Alcala for the kidnap and murder in 1979 of 12-year-old Robin Samsoe and the rape and murder of four Los Angeles County women between 1977 and 1979.

California police believe, however, that Alcala may have been responsible for more crimes and have released some 100 photographs found in Alcala’s Seattle storage locker in 1979. Some of the photographs, predominantly of young girls, but also of young men, seem to be in the nude or semi-nude.

One of these pictures is of two apparently Danish girls photographed by Alcala at what appears to be Copenhagen’s main train station.

“We balanced the privacy concerns of those depicted in the decision to release these pictures,” says District Attorney Tony Rackauckas. “Although we hope that the people depicted are not victims, we believe the release may help solve some cold cases and bring closure to victims’ families,” he added.
