Denmark’s legendary photographer Rigmor Mydtskov has died at the age of 84.

Apart from official photographs taken in her capacity as Royal Photographer, Mydtskov’s career handed down portraits and definitive photographs of most of Denmark’s 20th century personalities.

In the latter period of the 20th century she was also official photographer for Royal Theatre productions.

Known as an untiring set piece photographer, Mydtskov spent hours instructing her subjects in order to present them in their most natural and discreet yet idealised and expressive appearance.

In 2004, Mydtskov’s legacy – the House of Mydtskov – was taken over by her son Martin.
