A company in Dubai has agreed to buy 30,000 bottles of melted glacial water from Greenland for DKK 300 ($52, €40) pr. specially produced glass bottle with a glass top.
“The concept is one of quality. Everything is handmade,” says Julien Caquineau who has lived in Greenland for the past three years to develop the project and has finally, according to knr.gl, received a production licence.
Caquineau says the white drops of gold distinguish themselves from other waters by not tasting of anything at all, because the water is said to be completely pure.
Apart from a company in Dubai, the exclusive water is also said to have grabbed the imagination of interests in Japan, the United States and Singapore, with the Dubai company having secured the rights to the product for one year.
Caquineau says he hopes that it will be possible to sell the product in Greenland itself at some point in the future, but at a somewhat lower price.
