Princess Marie, the wife of Prince Joachim, has gone into labour and been admitted to the Rigshospitalet hospital in Copenhagen this morning, according to the Royal Court.
“There’s not so much to say at the moment apart from the fact that the princess seems to be well and has been admitted to give birth,” says Court Spokeswoman Lene Balleby.
The child will be the couple’s second, but the fourth to Prince Joachim, who has two children with his first wife Countess Alexandra.
The child will be the eighth grandchild to Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik.
