After several months in which the Social Democratic-led opposition has been clearly ahead of the government in the polls, the latest Gallup poll shows the government parties moving forward although still trailing.
The poll, carried out for Berlingske Tidende, shows the governing Liberal Party moving three percentage points forward over the past month, to land on 25.3 percent.
“It’s good to see as the Liberal Party has been through a difficult period. The economic recovery plan wasn’t that popular, but we did it because it was the right thing to do for Denmark. We’re benefitting from carrying out a responsible economic policy and the Danes have been able to see that recovery plans have also been introduced across Europe,” says Liberal Political Spokesman Peter Christensen.
