Politiken honored with 30 international design awards

Politiken receives 30 awards at this year’s European Newspaper Awards for digital design, one more than last year.

There might have been three little birds sitting on Bob Marley’s doorstep, but at Politiken, there are now 30 new awards from the European Newspaper Awards.

The annual ceremony for the best printed and digital newspaper design in Europe took place on Wednesday, February 25, and after several years of impressive results for Politiken, this year’s 30 awards mark a high point in the newspaper’s digital efforts.

Among the 30 awards, a special recognition went to the article »Get down, get down!«, brølede Secret Service-folkene, da skuddene faldt (»Get down, get down!«, roared the Secret Service agents as the shots rang out). The article tells the story of American photographer Jabin Botsford, who ignored Secret Service instructions when Donald Trump was targeted in an assassination attempt in 2024. Instead, Botsford captured some of the most iconic images of modern times. The article allows readers to follow his movements on that fateful day.
