The Danish Environmental Protection Agency's Chemical Inspection Unit and the Danish Safety Technology Authority have discovered six firework products at Danish importers that contain a banned carcinogen. All six products contained hexachlorobenzene and are produced in China, but were stopped before they reached Danish consumers.
Hexachlorobenzene is thought to cause hormonal disturbance, cancer and immune and neural disorders in humans.
