The government cannot bank on the support of the Social Democratic and Danish People’s parties in connection with moves to change the rules on early retirement and unemployment benefits.
The two parties have turned their backs on a proposal from the government’s Labour Market Commission, which has suggested raising the early retirement age and shortening the maximum unemployment benefit period.
