Thumbs down to welfare projects

The government’s works freeze has meant that Welfare Minister Karen Jespersen has rejected applications from councils across the country to carry out basic repairs to council buildings, according to a report prepared for Politiken by the Welfare Ministry.

Since June 2008, Jespersen has given the thumbs down to several councils wanting to renovate classrooms or build new pre-school institutions.
