In the wake of the latest police reform, the force is carrying out a major housekeeping operation by dropping a total of 2.8 million unsolved cases, according to Ekstra Bladet.
Thousands of criminals get off
The Public Prosecutor wants five per cent of the cases that have been suspended nationwide to be ditched by October 15.
The move means that some 14.000 reported, but unsolved crimes files can be permanently closed.
