A 45-year-old former manager of the Service Department at Ringsted Council has been arrested and charged with embezzlement running into millions of kroner, according to Dagbladet Ringsted. Five others have also been arrested on charges of a particularly serious breach of trust.

All six charged are currently being questioned by the Central and Western Zealand Fraud Squad.

The former head of section is suspected of having paid salaries to employees who were in fact employed in her own private companies – among others Terslev Pub. She is also charged with having purchased items for her businesses using Ringsted Council’s purchasing accounts.
