Expert: fewer but more violent storms

The United States and the Caribbean can expect fewer hurricanes in future – but those that do come will be more violent, according to Danish Climate Researcher Wilhelm May of the Danish Climate Centre.

“If we look at the climatic conditions as we expect them to develop in the future, we should be getting fewer hurricanes,” says May adding, however, that higher ocean temperatures will add energy to the hurricanes that do develop.
