High food prices are making Danes be more frugal in their eating habits according to the latest statistics from Statistics Denmark. Foodstuff sales fell by 6.4 percent in July, the biggest drop this decade, according to Jyllands-Posten.

Bread The bread market in particular has been hard hit by consumer reticence. Among other things, consumers now buy 1000g. or 750g. packs of bread rather than the 1,400 g. packs they previously took off the shelves, according to Kohberg Bread CEO Jan Gerber.
