The Danish High Court of Appeal is to hear the appeal case of a German taxi driver who drove three Afghans across the German-Danish border. In June the driver was sentenced to 50 days in prison in the lower courts for human smuggling.

The case has been controversial in that it has raised the discussion as to whether a taxi driver is responsible for checking the passports and identity of passengers who are to cross the border.
