The Danish government and its parliamentary safety net, the Danish People’s Party, got some bad – and some good news in Brussels today.

On the one hand the European Commission has flatly refused to change its Residence Directive, but on the other, the government’s recent tightening of some elements of immigration practice was given an initial green light.
