The parliamentary opposition is calling for the government to quickly redress the damage to nature that is has caused.
The parties concerned are reacting to what a biology professor has called ‘the biggest natural catastrophe for about 20 years’ after information that 830 km2 of fallow land have been put under the plough. In particular parties are furious because the government has not lived up to promises of safeguarding the environment in its agreements with the agricultural sector.
