Poul Nyrup Rasmussen MEP (SocDem), a former Danish prime minister and leader of the Social Democratic group in the European parliament has issued a damning criticism of the Commission and in particular the Single Market Commissioner Charlie McCreevy.
“The Commission just hasn’t measured up. A Commission should be ahead of the game and not always limp along 10 kilometers behind when there’s a great need for it to be in the front. They should have stepped in much earlier,” says Nyrup Rasmussen.
