For the first time since Danish, British and Afghan soldiers began heavy operations in the so-called green zone along the Helmand River a year ago, they have been forced to close bases and withdraw troops.
The Afghan army, assisted by Danish soldiers and combat vehicles closed down the advanced, frontline Attal base on October 17.
