The Minister for Integration Birthe Rønn Hornbech has harvested personal criticism from the Ombudsman in a concrete case involving advice given to a registered couple who were denied family reunion under Danish rules in 2008 because the Danish member of the couple was under rehabilitation.
Shortly afterwards the Dane appealed the decision to the minister asking for information on whether and how he could use more lenient EU rules.
