Prime Minister and Liberal Party Chairman Anders Fogh Rasmussen will be contesting the next election, is not a candidate for an international post and will remain Prime Minister as long as the Danish electorate wishes him to.
"I plan to contest the next election," the prime minister said as his party prepares itself for a weekend national congress. Several senior Liberal Party members have criticised a perceived uncertainty surrounding the prime minister's future.
