There has been a massive increase in the amount of backtaxes owed to the state according to a quareterly review by the Tax Authority. From 10 billion kroner in June, the figure has jumped to 16.8 billion kroner, according to Jyllands-Posten.
Debts have rocketed for various reasons - but also because the Authority's new IT system has been so confusing that companies have been unable to figure it out - resulting in the Authority failing to call in PAYE payments from January to August.
