The risk of pirate attacks is now so serious near Somalia, that A.P. Møller Mærsk has decided to change its routes to sail around Africa instead of using the Suez Canal and the Gulf of Aden.

Hijacks In a press release, the company says that ships will avoid the Guld of Aden and use alternative routes south of the Cape of Good Hope and east of Madagascar.
