According to B.T., 13 patients at two Southern Jutland hospitals have become infected with the Clostridium difficile 027 bacteria, which is also known as C. difficile 027. One cancer patient at Brørup Hospital has died after infection with the bacillus.

EU European health authorities have ordered intensive monitoring of the bacteria at hospitals throughout Europe. The bacteria is said to have a mortality of one in four, and is believed to spread through lax hygiene.
