The Danish central bank Danmarks Nationalbank has cut its lending rate and the rate of interest on certificates by 0.75 percent to 4.25 percent. The discount rate and the interest rate on current accounts held by banks at the central bank have also been lowered by 0.50 percent to 3.50 percent, according to a central bank statement.

The bank said its interest rate reduction, its third in a short period, is a consequence of the lowering by 0.75 percent to 2.50 percent in the European Central Bank’s rate on the main refinancing operations.
