In the wake of last summer’s heated debate about the significance of EU rules for Denmark’s immigration policy, former Foreign Minister and former Leader of Prime Minister Fogh Rasmussen’s Liberal Party, Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, has lashed out at the government.
According to Berlingske Tidende, Ellemann-Jensen says it is “embarrassing” that the government is so bad at implementing the EU’s so-called residence directive. The directive has played a central role in the debate on the inadequate guidance to Danish nationals who want to bring their foreign spouse to Denmark.
