The number of patients referred to private hospitals has fallen so dramatically after the government has temporarily removed its treatment guarantee that the hospitals fear they may have to close, according to Jyllands-Posten.
When in force, the treatment guarantee meant that patients who could not be treated within a month in state hospitals could be referred to private clinics. The guarantee has been withdrawn until next summer at the earliest.
